Protecting your data matters to us. This policy explains how personal data is processed under the Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP) and — where applicable — the EU GDPR.

What data we process

• Account & sign-in data: on registration we process your email address and sign-in data via our authentication provider Clerk.
• Payment data: subscriptions and payments are handled via Stripe. Card details are processed solely by Stripe; we never receive full card data.
• Server logs: on access, technically necessary data (IP address, timestamp, page requested) is processed by our hosting provider Vercel.
• Approximate location & weather: to personalise the live preview and the in-app clock/weather, your browser may request an approximate location from ipwho.is (based on your IP address) and weather data from Open-Meteo (based on coordinates). Place lookup may also use BigDataCloud. No account data is sent to these services. Location settings you choose may be saved in this browser until you change or clear them. You can override the location manually.
• Email: transactional and support email is handled via Resend (sending) and Zoho Mail (mailbox). Your email address and message content are processed for this purpose only.
• Live TV: live channels are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you play a stream, YouTube/Google processes connection data under its own privacy policy.

Purpose and legal basis

We process data to provide the Service, to perform the contract (subscription) and to ensure security and operation. The legal basis is performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in secure operation.

News content

The headlines shown come from third-party sources and generally contain no personal data about you. When you click an item you are taken to the original source, whose privacy terms then apply.

Cookies

Clerk uses cookies to operate sign-in. Browser storage also retains settings you choose. The absence of advertising cookies does not mean that no measurement requests are sent to third parties.

Audience measurement: the website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. Vercel Speed Insights measures page performance. When configured, a Google Ads conversion tag loads with advertising and analytics storage set to “denied”. Google can still receive cookieless requests for measurement and modelling. This technical setting does not replace any consent required by applicable law.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your data. You can delete your account (including cancelling any active subscription) yourself at tickwire.news/account/delete, or contact info@tickwire.news.

Retention

Account data is stored for as long as your account exists. After deletion of the account, data is removed unless statutory retention obligations apply.
